These pendants are made slowly, entirely by hand, using traditional weaving techniques passed down through generations. The sisal fibres are stripped, softened and dyed using natural pigments from roots, bark and soil, before being woven into form - a process that can take over 7 days for each shade.
They are woven by women artisans in rural South East Kenya. Weaving provides both stable income and a place of shared purpose - a space where women gather, work, and support one another, transforming natural fibres into light-filled pieces for your homes.
The result is lighting that feels deeply human: warm, tactile, imperfect in the most beautiful way and rich with story.

We offer a full refund on Woven Pendant Lights, provided that you email us within 14 days of receiving your order.
Click and Collect (contactless pick up) available from our warehouse at 15 Cochranes Road, Moorabbin, Victoria 3189.
Orders ship via Australia Post - please allow up to 3-5 business days for dispatch, unless otherwise stated in website banner. Dispatch times may be longer during busy periods, such as when new shipments land. Please allow 2-3 weeks during sale periods.

Our weavers live high in the Taita Hills in South East Kenya
They share materials and skills.
But they tell us that much more important to them are the laughs, songs and stories that they share.
They call their group Mapatano which means "togetherness" in Swahili.
Weaving provides an important source of income to these women as droughts become longer and more severe in an area that has traditionally relied on farming.
