Their daughters, in particular, now have a chance for a future that they otherwise would not have had.
We currently work with two different groups of women - based in remote parts of Kenya, and Southern Africa.
We'd love you to meet them.
High in the Taita Hills in South East Kenya, a group of women meet to weave our Handwoven Pendants.
They share materials and skills. But they tell us that much more important to them are the laughs and songs and stories that they share.
Most weaving groups in the region go by the name of the area they are based in. This group call themselves 'Mapatano' which means 'togetherness'.
Weaving provides an important source of income to these women as droughts become longer and more severe in an area that has traditionally relied on farming.
Our Pulp Collection is handmade by women artisans in Southern Africa using waste magazines, and dried under the sun's rays.
Each piece is made start to finish by the one artisan, and provides much needed employment.
The women are on secure, full time contracts and generally receive up to 2-3 times the minimum wage in their country.
They are only a small team, but since we started working together one more woman has been employed, with another being planned for the next 6 months.
